Located on Yone Gyi Road, Nyaungshwe's Mingala Market is a busy little place, most especially in the morning hours. It's always packed with shoppers and vendors, plus a few tourists like you! It's truly a sensory experience with all the sights, sounds, and smells overwhelming you wherever you turn. You can easily spend an hour or more wandering the aisles and taking in the sights. Hey, you might even be tempted to buy a few things too. My favorite fruit vendor (I usually buy a few dozen mangoes, bananas, or oranges, depending on the season, to donate to a local monastery) will always toss in a few free "gifts" of extra fruit each time. Typical Burmese hospitality and kindess!
